We have a variety of classes offering this year. They are:
- Cecchetti Ballet - (Cecchetti technical training-the basis of all dance movement & exam syllabus) The philosophy of the method is to promote a lifelong love, appreciation and enjoyment of ballet and train the professional and amateur students in the intricacies of the technique. Cecchetti dancers have always achieved places in national and international ballet schools and dance companies.
- Jazz - Dynamic dance moves characterized by the use of improvisation and influenced by rhythms of popular music. Includes technical training for jumps leaps turns and training in flexibility and strength.
- Modern - Lyrical dance which challenges dancers to use motion to interpret music and express emotion. A lyrical dancers movements attempt to show the meaning of the music . The style is passionate and emotional. It can tell a story or show emotions such as love.
- Contemporary - Contemporary dancers can range from classical to breakdancers. This style of dance places heavy emphasis on the connection between mind and body, with dancers being encouraged to explore their emotions through dances which push against traditional boundaries This style of dance often involves a great deal of playing with balance, floorwork, fall and recovery and improvisation.
- Ballet Australasia Limited Jazz (BAL exam syllabus) - Jazz technique, includes barre exercises, centre isolations, flexibility exercises, steps, leaps and pirouette turns. Examinations held yearly with examiners travelling from interstate to conduct examinations at either our own studio or one in the region
- Glenn Wood Tap (GWT exam syllabus) - Stylish funky tap very suitable for boys and girls including faster combinations and turns. Start at level 1 through to 10. Exams yearly structured to positively reinforce confidence and give constructive feedback. Teachers and students are encouraged by Glenn to feel relaxed and support the other students during exams.
- Funky Beats - A tap percussion class where creative improvisation of rhythms is encouraged. Tap steps will be taught but emphasis on rhythms is the essence of this class. You don’t need prior experience and we have shoes to hire at a very reasonable price.
- Eisteddfod classes - Classes designed for the different categories and genres of dance and ages of students for the eisteddfods.
- JFH - (Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop) - This style uses the moves and technical training of jazz, the grounded elements of hip hop, and the rhythms and movements of funk to make for a great fun work out
- Adult tap - A great work out with lots of laughs. Tap to modern and older tunes. Great way to exercise.
- Adult Funky Jazz - Funky fun with a little Hip hop and a great work out that includes some floor for the tummy butts and thighs (don’t have to be a dancer to do this class).
- Tiny Tots Creative Dance and pre primary ballet - A great way to develop your child’s motor, creative and imaginative skills. Dance and sing to Hi Fi, the wiggles or join the pre school ballet dancers and leap the rivers, have fun with props. Enjoy making bubbles.
- Mat Fitness (Pilates, Yoga & Stretch concepts) - A great core and stretch workout to relaxing and soothing sounds. No experience necessary. Experience and enjoy this dynamic workout all done on the floor on a mat. Using balls, bands to help build strength and flexibility this work out is challenging and empowering while gentle on the body.,
- Hip Hop - A culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression including breaking popping and locking. Hip hop music is a musical genre typically consisting of a rhythmic vocal style called rap which is accompanied by backing beats. Recreational and relaxed classes. Mostly teenagers attend but open to adults as well.
- Kids Acro/Hip Hop - Ages 5-11 energetic class for kids who like to dance have fun and take a few risks . Trampoline supervised and jumps taught on mats combined with latest Hip hop moves appropriate to the age.
